Most cats want to put a fish in their bellies, but Litterfish allows for a fish to swallow up your cat while it takes care of business inside of it. This intriguing cat litter box developed by Robert Brinkmann and Dan Panosian of IOVO designs. They created Litterfish as an alternative for people who don’t love the look of the traditional, clunky litterbox in their homes.
Right now, Litterfish is in pre-order phase, where they’re trying to make sure the demand for the product is there before creating too many. IOVO designs is currently pre-selling the Original Litterfish (orange) and Modern Litterfish (gray) for $159 (retail price will be $200) and the glossy (black and white) for $500. If and when they reach 1,000 orders, they’ll produce the actual product. Until they reach 1,000 orders, orders are fully refundable.
So, what do you think? Would you buy a Litterfish? If you dig it, help a budding business start up!
Now that I no longer live in a dog-unfriendly apartment, I’m counting the days til we can adopt our very own dog. I love imagining my cats riding regally on the back of their new canine best pal. That’s probably not going to happen, especially knowing how possessive and obsessed P. Kitty is with me; I’ll be lucky if she doesn’t try to climb on our future dog’s back to attack him/her. So maybe the answer is Lumpi, a dog-shaped cat scratcher by designer Erik Stehmann. Lumpi is made from polyester resin wrapped in sisal cord; the better for sharp claws to dig in and get a satisfying yank. German pet product sellers Lumpi, called DOG on its site, for $607.11 (gulp!) and explains “it also allows your cat to sharp their claws on their natural ‘enemy’. For us, this dog is not only a very practical scratching post, but rather an absolute design-must-have.”
Or, maybe we’ll just have to wrap our future dog in rope armor…?

The other day I looked at my Gmail and realized that 98% of the emails sitting (many unread) in my inbox are notifications from flash sale sites. I went a little sign up crazy when I discovered there were sites offering weekly deals on designer goods. I’ve got all aspects of my life on a deal alert – from baby to home — but I have to admit that I only tend to take advantage of a flash sale when it involves pet goods (or pet themed stuff). You can imagine how worried I am about my bank account now that I’ve discovered a flash sale site made just for doggie deal scavengers like myself.
