It’s Beginning to Smell a Lot Like Biscuits

Holy crap, I love Christmas cookies. I love baking them, eating them… feeling guilty for eating them… then drowning my guilt with a glass of eggnog and yet another cookie. Holiday treats are of course best made and enjoyed with a crowd, preferably with sprinkle-crazy kids. Since it’s just my husband and I, genuine Christmas cookies – the ones you have to roll out, cut and decorate – are just too much work. Except for the doggie cookies, that is! Tomorrow I plan to spend my day off baking up something special for my pretty pup, while she plays the role of official taste tester. Check out my recipe after the jump!

Spent-Grain Dog Treats
Pet Projects

Shape Your Melons

To me, nothing says summer like a cool refreshing watermelon on a hot sunny day. To some people, that watermelon gets dressed up like a shark eating gummy fishes. If you happen to be big fan of cute food that boarders on kitsch then you might want to check out some of National Watermelon Promotion Board‘s (yeah, it’s a real thing) awesome DIY carvings.

Boston Terrier Cake Pops

Alright, I’ll admit it, I hate baking. But even I’m not immune to the cuteness of these Boston Terrier cake pops. It looks like they used the standard cake pop recipe (you can find many on Bakerella) but with the added touch of marshmallow fondant to make the muzzle, nose and ears. Adorable.

And in case you are wondering, even my non-baking self can make cake pops.
