Cats can never not be cute, right? WRONG! Tony Meredith has managed to make kittehs look both disturbing and adorable at the same time with a simple cut and paste trick. The idea came after Tony, an industrial designer at frog design in San Francisco, decided to add lips to a random picture of a cute kitty a co-worker had put up in the office.

“The reaction to this lil’ piece of collage was all over the map – from horror to disgust to adoration. So after a few months of creating images of cats with lips, I decided to take it to the web for all the world to enjoy.” Tony, who’s allergic to cats but still loves them, launched the site Cats with Lips. The tagline: ”If cats had lips, people wouldn’t take them to the shelter, they’d keep them at home and kiss them…” That and test lipstick shades on them.

What better way to get through humpday than with an entire site dedicated to cat gifs. After the jump, a few of my faves, though really can one cat gif be better than the other? Yah, I didn’t think so.

How about some silly canine humor to end a long workweek? Text from Dog is just the fix. When an old roommate’s dog used to get in our beds while we were gone — breaking the house rules — we’d say, “Fiona had a party in your bed.” I’m pretty sure if Fiona could text about her home alone adventures, they’d be a lot like the texts on this tumblr blog, Text from Dog. Check it out for a few laughs before the weekend starts. Enjoy!
