The other day I looked at my Gmail and realized that 98% of the emails sitting (many unread) in my inbox are notifications from flash sale sites. I went a little sign up crazy when I discovered there were sites offering weekly deals on designer goods. I’ve got all aspects of my life on a deal alert – from baby to home — but I have to admit that I only tend to take advantage of a flash sale when it involves pet goods (or pet themed stuff). You can imagine how worried I am about my bank account now that I’ve discovered a flash sale site made just for doggie deal scavengers like myself.

Friends of mine are big fans of Airbnb, the site that lets you rent someone’s home for your next trip instead of booking a hotel room. Now there’s a pet-oriented site that reminds me of that model. DogVacay, now operating throughout Canada and the US, allows you to look up a host for your dog in the city of your choice.
