San Francisco-based illustrator, designer and painter Lisa Congdon is well known as a collector of vintage ephemera. Her book A Collection a Day, created from an eponymous blog, catalogues 365 photographs of her collections ranging from vintage matchbooks to midcentury kitchenware and pinecones. But don’t think her curatorial work stops there. Congdon’s four-year-old Chihuahua Wilfredo has his own growing collection — 15 outfits tucked away in his own dresser drawer.

PJ Richardson + Stella
Best Furiends Forever

When PJ Richardson started his design and animation company Laundry! in 2006, it was just him and his business partner in a small room. Five years later, Richardson shares his 5,000 square foot Hollywood office with 30 employees and a few of their dogs. There, the team works on graphics, animation, and visual effects for the likes of Google, Virgin Mobile, and Nike. Next up: rebranding the Al Jazeera network.

Unfortunately Richardson’s own pup doesn’t make the daily commute with him, but that doesn’t mean 13-year-old Stella hasn’t made her mark on the designer and business owner. I caught up with Richardson to find out how the tubby little wiener dog, along with his co-worker’s pups, keep him grounded and inspired.
