Tap-a Tap-a Tap-a

There’s something about dogs in old-timey movies. They just seem to have so much heart and talent. This choreographed dog from the 1941 movie Lady Be Good is pretty darn impressive. The human actress, Eleanor Powell, trained Buttons herself, and the scene was filmed in her own living room, as this is where the coordinated rat terrier learned the routine.

A Purrfect Bathing Suit?

Earlier this month, Black Milk Clothing previewed the Cute Cat Swim bathing suit on Facebook.  I’m a fan of cute kittens, but not sure I need to have a pussy on my swimsuit. What do you think? Would you wear it?

Cat Owners: Beware of Bobcat Fever

No, Bobcat fever isn’t the Bobcat Goldthwait frenzy hitting the nation; it’s an actual deadly cat disease. Also known as cytauxzoonosis (I swear, this is a real condition), the disease has been rearing its ugly head in recent years. The reason it’s called Bobcat fever is because it’s mostly known to be carried by bobcats and mountain lions, but unfortunately for us cat owners, it can also affect any animal of the feline persuasion.

Baboons That Adopt Dogs as Pets?

Say what?! Baboons kidnapping puppies? Raising them as pets?! You might’ve seen the clip (*Warning: First part of the video might upset some viewers. Fast forward to 1:40 to avoid some sad parts), already, which has been making rounds on Facebook and on blogs since last year. Originally from a British nature series called “Animals Like Us,” the video depicts a group of Hamadryas baboons living at a trash dump in Saudi Arabia. The narrator explains that the baboons kidnap feral puppies, raise them as pets, and eventually, treat the dogs like family members. Amazing story, right? It seems to disprove the notion that humans are the only animals who keep pets. But is it true?
