Salmonella Recall!
Raw pet food manufacturer Primal Pet Foods has issued a voluntary recall of their Feline Chicken & Salmon Formula with a “Best By” date code of 043112-17. The recall is due to possible salmonella contamination. Just wanted to pass the word along.

It’s Hug Your Cat Day!
Or is it?
When Jolene posted about pet-related holidays, I quickly put most of them on my calendar. Today, according to my calendar, is “Hug Your Cat Day,” but when I went to research more on the commemorative date, the results were confusing.
June 4th, May 24th, May 12th, May 15th, and May 30th are all listed by various sources as Hug Your Cat Day. Maybe it’s different each year. Is it like Thanksgiving where it’s the first Tuesday in May? Or is there some kitty-hugging patriarch changing it each year like Easter? I’m confused, and I’m not the only one.
But then, does it really matter? Can there be too many days to hug your cat? I think not! (Though your cat may disagree with me.) So today, next Thursday, the Sunday after that, one month and a day from now, and any other day you feel like it, give your kitty a hug!
Pets Get Wet for Health
Poor kitty… look at him up there, forced not only to exert himself physically, but to do so while semi-submerged in water. Torture! You can watch the video on a well-known website featuring felines who are fond of Americana cuisine. They titled the video “Fat Kitteh Training,” but I wonder if there’s more to this kitty torture porn than just that.
