My neighbor told my husband that a litter of kittens was born under his house. To which I responded, simply: They were so close! Why didn’t it happen at our house?!
In any case, it was a timely reminder that it’s kitten season in San Francisco, and probably in many other parts of the spring-and-summer-having world. Per this post from SFist.com, “warmer temperatures and less rain encourage cats to get busy earlier and more often than usual,” and I guess we really can’t blame them. But the SF SPCA says it’s presenting a real, sudden problem, thanks to kitten season hitting harder and earlier than usual this year.
More good timing: If you’re looking to add fur and cute to your family (and if you’re in the Bay Area), the SF SPCA is holding an “adoptathon” this weekend. Doggies will be represented as well.
