Back in September I posted about Portia, one of the bravest little mamas around. Rescued and rehabilitated by  Love & Hope Sanctuary, Portia had been the victim of a brutal raccoon attack, all while giving birth to her litter of kittens! The most insane birth story one could ever have.

Naturally, Portia’s heroic story makes her the most fitting candidate for Petfinder’s Luckiest Pet Contest. The adoption site will award $5,500 to the rescue organization whose adopted out what voters will decide is the luckiest survivor. Surf through the site and you’ll find plenty of rescue stories that will make you water log your keyboard with tears, but I honestly think Portia has one of the most badass survivor stories out there and she sure was lucky to have found the wonderful people at  Love & Hope Sanctuary.  If you agree, you can vote for her here.
