Originally named and sometimes still known as the Dogue de Bordeaux, the French Mastiff dates back to the 14th century when they were originally used – due to their large and stocky nature – to stand guard. Described as being ripe with courage but not aggression these big boys can be a great addition to any home with a lot of room to run, play and roam.
