That Moment When You Know You’re Officially Dog Crazy

So, this happened. I purchased this doggy sling on Doggyloot and when it arrived, I excitedly tore open the box, figured out how to put it on and plopped my little Joey in there. It wasn’t until I was wearing the thing with Joey in tow that I realized how kind of ridiculous this item is. And by ridiculous I, of course, mean amazing. For me, this was “that moment” when I realized I’ve gone completely overboard. And you can tell by the look on Joey’s face that he agrees.

When I ordered the sling I thought it was more like a messenger bag style soft carrier but it’s full on baby sling. I received a slew of comments when I posted this photo on facebook one of which was, “Katie have a kid!” I’m not sure I’ll ever have the guts to actually use this in public but who knows? Joey gets nervous in new places and when he’s nervous, he get clumsy. That results in me picking him up and carrying him. I thought this carrier would help in those types of situations. I have a more traditional soft carrier that works great but it’s a little bulky. What’s the silliest item you’ve purchased for your pets?

  • I am loving Joey’s facial expression! Priceless!

I have a sling for my mini dachshund. It keeps him from getting stepped on by his big clumsy hound dog brothers when we go to the vet or run errands. Embrace your inner crazy dog lady!

I’m always tempted by cat clothing, even though I know my cats wouldn’t stand for it. I tried putting them in sweaters once and they managed to slip out of them!

I made one of these a few years ago for my chihuahua mix. He loves it, we only get compliments on it, and it’s incredibly convenient for taking him places on my bicycle. Of course, he doesn’t lie on his back in it like a baby, so thatprobably makes a big difference in how it appears to other people.
