Ottoman in Waiting

You big-dog owners know something I don’t. Are you telling me there is an ottoman, at all times, just waiting for your tired footsies? I asked all kinds of silly questions: is he OK? Are you sure? It seemed like he was happy, but…

Yeah, he was snoring bigtime eventually and his mom and dad said this was his favorite thing to happen all day. And that includes simply having us visitors come over and drop food under the table.

By contrast, I have a smaller snoring dog sitting with me on the upper deck.

This was probably also my favorite thing to happen that day.

  • Emma does this! She loves lying perpendicular to the couch when I’m relaxing and watching Netflix, or under my desk in the office in the exact spot where I put my feet. Sometimes I’ll bend down and rub her belly, but she doesn’t mind me resting my foot on her as she snores. Sometimes she even pushes herself up against my legs, forcing me to move them out of the way, which ends up with me kind of awkwardly using her as an ottoman. It’s her pushy dog way of saying “Touch me, I will force you to touch me!”
