Though superstition and bias prompt some to overlook our black-fur friends, one newspaper created a day that’s all about them.

Ann Arbor, MI news hub AnnArbor.com featured these stigmatized pets on their photo Friday recently, and I thought it was a rad way to celebrate (and spotlight) maligned animals in need.

Hug a BBD (big black dogs) or black cat today.
