I’ll be honest, 2011 was a sucky year for me – my dog Peetie passed away. 2012, however, was all sorts of awesome. At the beginning of the year, a huge Pomeranian made his way into my grieving heart. Yup, on new years eve, I adopted Waffles. Nothing has warmed my soul like seeing my pack thrive with a newcomer.

Without a doubt, there have also been some amazing articles on Pawesome. Below the cut are three of personal favorite reads.

• I an a huge fan of Jolene’s Raise a Paw series. One of my fave’s of that series is why dogs go nuts when they hear the doorbell ring. Seriously helped me understand why my trio go nuts whenever they hear that noise
• Sonia Zjawinski’s DIY post on how to make an upcycle pet bed is all sorts of amazing in my book. I love me a good project, especially when it involves making beds for my lazy pooches.
• Pets for social good? Yes, please. Big thanks to Tara to bringing up how pets can help improve social skills in autistic kids. I have a nephew with PDD-NOS, so it’s an issue near and dear to my heart
