I’ve always felt lucky to have my two awesome Meow’s, Henry and Arthur by my side and in my face to weather any storm with and 2012 was no exception. After losing my job and basically running out of money to live, the three of us packed up and moved from a 500 square foot apartment in Brooklyn to a sprawling horse farm in Maryland. Without exception this year has made me realize how comforting your pet can be and how grateful you can feel for their unconditional affection. You know, there are times when you just need to be loved without reason or without expectation and while your pets can’t take the place of another person’s love they sure can still fill your heart. While my pet favorite personal moments of 2012 include the times when I was a bit down and Henry or Arthur were curled up in my lap doing what they could to comfort me or waking me up with a purr and a cuddle, there were other things going on in this grand Pawesome world that I appreciated just as much. • My heart basically melted when I read Katie Redmiles Pierson personal account on her first foster pup being adopted
• Forever a sucker for a corgi (their legs are so close to the ground…so close!  Squeeeeee!) Sonia Zjawinski had me laughing when I read the story about Sparky the Corgi in her Behind the Meme series
• While it wasn’t on the funny tip Tara Ramroop Hunt‘s post on pet obesity served as such as great reminder to me about all the great work we do at Pawesome. Not only do we have fun with what we post but we all take our love for pets seriously and use Pawesome to help inform our pet loving readers as best that we can.  Tara’s post was an absolute reminder of that for me.
