In place of The Etsy Herd this week, I wanted to post about a benefit coming up this Wednesday, November 7th in Brooklyn to help the pets of Sandy. The Sandy Animal Relief Benefit will take place in Greenpoint, Brooklyn at 8pm and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Adopt NY Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. Piggybacking on Katie’s list of ways to help the pets and animals effected by Sandy, the benefit is meant to help a group (Adopt NY) that has “stepped up to help by assisting 44 animal rescue groups as directly and quickly as possible. This organization is providing these rescues with the two most important needs: new fosters and new supplies. They have already raised $3,000 and have collected over 400 foster applications.”
If you have been trying to find a way to help in the aftermath of Sandy, like comedy, music and can swing making it to Brooklyn, this is a great way to benefit not just pets but multiple organizations around the 5 boroughs who need your help.
