Fostering Take Two

Well after enjoying being back to a two-dog household for about five weeks, I’ve decided to mix things up again and take in another foster dog. My life is a little overwhelming right now and I realized I could use a happy distraction. Seeing my last foster dog find her furever home gave me the best feeling so I’m going to do it again. Ginger Snap, pictured above, arrives this weekend. She’s a dachshund/chihuahua mix and I’m fostering her through Annapolis Dog Rescue, the group I wrote about in our “Thanks for Giving” series.

An interesting note about Ginger Snap, she’s actually the fourth dog I agreed to foster in a matter of days. The first dog I was asked to foster was adopted right away, the shelter for the second dog I was asked to foster didn’t respond to the rescue group (hopefully because someone else already saved him), and the third dog I was asked to foster is being treated for a skin condition and isn’t yet ready for transport. And so, that led me to Ginger Snap. It just goes to show how many dogs in need there are which is why I said “yes, I’ll take him/her” each time. Wish my pups, Ginger Snap and me luck!
