Hello, My Name Is… Miss Darcy

Name, age, sex, breed: Miss Darcy, 3 yrs old, female, Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier
Owner, city: Cheryl & Richard Little, Waupoos, Prince Edward County, Ontario Canada
How I got my name: Prince Edward County is a United Empire Loyalist area which originated during the Georgian period. I thought of the name Darcy from the Jane Austin books and since I am female it became “Miss Darcy” but everyone calls me Darcy.

How we met: My parents had several other Wheatens before I arrived… they liked Wheaten personality so much they just had to have me. I came from a breeder in Ontario.
Personality type: I’m a little devil with a great sense of humour, big brown eyes, black wet nose and I love to jump straight up into the air from all 4 feet. I love to run really fast and I have my parents well trained!!
Siblings: None…that live with me.

Pet peeves: I always jump up on people when they come to the house…”The Wheaten Welcome”. Don’t understand why people don’t like to be licked!
Favorite place to lounge: Just about anywhere…preferably with a view on a soft cushion.
Favorite foods: Anything people are eating. But my regular food is a grain free organic kibble made of fish and chicken. I also love to munch on ice cubes and carrots.

Forbidden indulgences: Ice cream and almonds
Strangest habits: Jumping straight up in the air from all 4 feet.

Stand-out physical feature: My beautiful eyes.
Things you might not know if I didn’t tell or show you: Wheatens were originally bred in Ireland as farm dogs and family companions. They certainly kissed the Blarney Stone which comes out in our spunky personality.
