Dress Like Your Pet (and Vice-Versa) for Halloween

They say humans and their pets start looking alike at some point. Sometimes, that is completely intentional.

For Halloween, I wanted my husband, Jeff, and I to dress like Gida. That is, wear clothing that resembles her markings as closely as possible. This probably means wearing an incomplete off-the-shoulder black dress and an eyepatch. Alternately, he could wear a stretchy white outfit and cover that strategically in black paint. Amazingly, neither would look like a costume in our neighborhood. As amusing as it would be (mostly for me, doubled over with laughter), I think it is more feasible for Gida to dress like one of us.

Jeff wears an orange hoodie and his San Francisco Giants cap all the time. I thought that the above dog hoodie from Republic of Paws and a doggie SF Giants hat (oh, they make them). Like this, from Baxter Boo:

And glasses. She’d need glasses.

OK, maybe not those glasses.

Spitting image, I tell ya.

  • Love it! Emma could totally dress as my husband Cary, but she’d have to wear a Florida Gators hat, nerdy glasses and a snarky, doggie-sized t-shirt from Threadless. A bulldog wearing UF gear is downright scary for the hardcore UGA fans we have around here, so it’s totally Halloween appropriate! :D

Maria, she kind of has to now! ;) Finding just the right glasses proved a challenge for me, too.
