I ❤ My Rescue

When I was finding furever homes for the street cats of Brooklyn, I loved getting updates from my adoptees. There’s nothing better than getting an email in which someone divulges just how much their new furry friend has improved their life. To get that feeling again, and again, and again, there’s I  ❤ My Rescue.

A project from Brooklyn Animal Action, the site posts rescue stories from adoptive parents who share the backstory of how their beloved pet came into their lives, complete with adorable photos! Above is a snapshot of Petey, a.k.a. Orange Crush. He was found by a Brooklyn Animal Action volunteer behind a Key Foods. His leg had been crushed by a fork lift.

His adoptive human writes, “After my first cat, Percy, died last year (after three years of being slightly sickly), I promised myself that any animal I adopted would be healthy and hearty. But I apparently have a weak spot for animals with problems, because when I walked in to adopt a healthy little kitty, I spotted Petey with his leg in a cast and was immediately sold.” Warm and fuzzies going on right now in this heart of mine.
