An Update from Wolfe the Freeway Kitten

Yup, that’s the same kitty who was cradled in my arms with a broken jaw and blood coming out of his nose just last week! How amazing is he?!

Wolfe stabilized earlier in the week and had surgery on his jaw on Tuesday. By that evening he was scarfing his wet food down (as you can see). His lower jaw will be wired for three to four weeks and after that, if all is still going as well as it has been, he’ll be up for adoption. You can contact VCA Lawrence directly if you’re interested in meeting this heartbreaker.

This morning he was playing with toys hanging in his cage and meowing at the staff for attention. He’s often carried around the hospital from person to person for loving and is allowed to stretch his legs in the lunchroom when the rest of the staff are eating their meals. Sounds like he’s managed to become an unofficial employee of VCA Lawrence, speciality: being awesome. The staff there are actually amazed at how nonchalant he is about his injury. Total badass!

Thank you VCA Lawrence for taking such good care of him and to all who have donated to his medical treatment! You guys are all very generous!

I hope to visit this stud early next week and will post more photos of his adorable improvements soon after.

This is such an amazing story, and I can also attest to how great the VCA people are as I had to take my cat Sunny to their ER in San Leandro recently (twice) for a urinary infection that only seemed to manifest after her own vet’s office was closed. They have to deal with a huge variety of pet emergencies and everyone there is extremely professional and friendly. Looking forward to more Wolfe updates!
