Laser Tweets

My cats love lasers. My dog loves lasers. Even my baby loves them. In fact, Fynn learned to crawl with the help of a laser toy. While I don’t mind manually zigging and zagging a laser light around the room, my fingers do get cramped after holding down that little button for longer than a few minutes. I’ve tried the FroliCat Bolt, an automated laser toy, and it works pretty well, but it’s not super attractive. Like I need another ugly gizmo lying around the house, you know?
Well, looks like one crazy designer has come to save the day.
Peter Pracillo designed a line of dog and cat toys for Contempo Pet Toys, currently on sale on Fab (let us know if you need an invite). One of the items that caught my attention is the Bella Rocking Laser Bird. How cute! I totally wouldn’t mind leaving one of these out in the living room for our cats. It would actually totally fit in with the rest of the décor.
While there isn’t a high-tech mechanism inside to keep the light, which comes out of the bird’s beak, bouncing around the floor, the base of the bird is weighted so that it’s constantly rocking, allowing the beam to move around for your cat’s delight.
The bird is cute, but I definitely wonder how effective the weighted base is at keeping the light moving in an entertaining fashion. Does it only move back and forth in one direction? That might bore a kitty, even the most dim witted ones.
