Name, age, sex, breed: Micah, year and a half, female, terrier/Golden Retriever/Muppet mix

  Owner, city: Antonia Richmond, San Francisco, CA

 How I got my name: Well, my foster parents named me Sandi, but then my real mom changed it to Micah. It’s pronounced MEE-kah, not MYE-kah. Between you and me, I think my mom spells it wrong, which is funny, because she’s a writer.

How we met: At an adoption event in Seattle. I was about 11 weeks old. She told me later that all sorts of people tried to talk her out of getting a puppy, but she took one look at me and knew we were meant to be. :)

Personality type: Super happy, enthusiastic, scrappy and fun! You know, I’m just super stoked to be here.

Siblings: None at the moment. (I’m working on it.)

Pet peeves: Not being with my mom for any amount of time, being told no, leashes. Oh, and baths — UGH.

Favorite place to lounge: I like to stretch out on the floor. The backseat of mom’s car is nice too.

Favorite foods: Everything! Once, I even ate a whole bottle of Vitamin D pills. Hahaha! (My mom didn’t think it was so funny — something about a $1200 vet bill and the scare of her life? Whatevs, they tasted good.)

Forbidden indulgences: Delicious mystery meat/bones I find on the street. YUM-O.

Strangest habits: Every time I see a patch of grass, I like to run and dive-bomb into it. I also LOVE running down hallways at full speed, and poking my mom with my paw repeatedly in the morning until she gets up.

Stand-out physical feature: Duh — THE HAIR. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on it. I don’t get it professionally highlighted, straightened, or blown out — I was just BORN with it. Lucky me! Also, sometimes people tell me that I look like Valcor, this flying dog-like creature from some movie called The Neverending Story. That and some dog named Benji?

Things you might not know if I didn’t tell or show you: That I am the sweetest, most lovable dog you’ll ever know. Give me a belly rub, and I’ll be your BFF!
