An Open Letter to My Dogs

This photo is of me in bed after I came down with a sudden illness about a month ago. I felt horrible but having the love of three dogs in bed with me while I tried to rest and recuperate made me feel so much better. On days like today when the world is filled with such sadness and the faith we have in other people is threatened, I feel grateful for my dogs. They are dependable and loving and I know that no matter what happens today or any day, they’re going to treat me just the same. They’re going to greet me at the door, jump around me and scratch up my legs and give me kisses just like yesterday. I really don’t know why everyone doesn’t have a dog…or cat…or a pet of any kind. They definitely make my world a better place.

  • What an utterly adorable photo. There’s nothing like a healthy does of dog-therapy. Hope you’re feeling better.

  • Beautifully said and I agree 100%!

Agreed! My work is stressful and more often than not, unpleasant. I’ve been asked how do I endure it. Just this morning I thought to myself, I have my 2 babies at home, and every day I start it by saying hello to them, petting/cuddling and loving them. And I end my day that way too. Starting the day and ending the day with love is my peace of mind. even when they’re rascals…… BTW, my “babies” are 2 bunnies. One large and one small, both mischievous bundles of goodness.

I hope you are feeling much better! Cheers to all.
