It sounds like some kind of fairy tale, some Lord of the Rings-esque journey, literal and figurative.

It is, kind of.

A hike to the summit of San Francisco’s Bernal Heights Hill takes you up and up some more, through the trees, next to enviable hillside homes. The reward, aside from the exercise and the view, is a dog park. During my last visit, me and my dude hit bulldog treasure.

The dramatic ending to this tale: Bulldog v. Bulldog. I am amazed Ye Olde English made it to the top.
