I’ve amassed a slightly embarrassing collection of pet bowls over the years. Some are from reviews I’ve done for this site, others were gifts, and more still have been dishes I haven’t been able to pass up at garage sales. Unfortunately, despite the collection, I hate that everything’s so mismatched. Some are steel and melamine, some are ceramic, and each have their own pet-themed pattern. One of these days I’d like all my pets to be eating out of similar dishware and when that day comes, I’d like it to be because I DIYed a rad set of bowls like those seen above.

Sara of Metal + Mud (both a blog and Etsy shop) recently bought some melamine bowls from Target and, using a Sharpie, personalized the bowls with some amazing freehand fonts. Super easy to do, though I’m not sure if my penmanship could compete with Sara’s. Check out her blog for photos of each of the designs she came up with for her two cats and two dogs.
