Bowls and Bloat with Bostons

Someone has a new bowls-and-mat set. The fact that they match her color palette isn’t at all coincidental.
A friend cautioned that raised bowls can cause bloat in dogs. Sonia wrote about this a couple years ago as it impacted her pup, offering sage advice on identifying this sometimes-deadly condition. Deep and narrow-chested dogs — such as Great Danes and Weimaraners — are at the most risk, turns out. Gulpers/food-vacuums are also at higher risk.
Though Gida does not have what I’d call a deep or narrow chest, we’re keeping an eye on her behavior. Bloat symptoms include restlessness, attempts at vomiting, and coughing or gagging. In the meantime, I’m curious if any small-dog owners had bad experiences with raised bowls. Indulge me in the comments.
