I first realized that bodegas are have a uniquely New York identity when I moved to San Francisco. Where were all the bodegas? No one knew what I meant when I referenced this type of store. More importantly, where were all the bodega KITTIES (which, I submit, are a breed all their own)?

Well, the short story is that San Francisco does not have bodegas. Thankfully, Buzzfeed recently did a great roundup of some of the 10 best bodega cats, so can still get my fix.
