Scratchy Butt, Bitey Face
Aside from loving to get her ass spanked, P. Kitty has always been a fan of a good ol’ fashioned butt scratch. In the last few years I’ve noticed that the nerves in her back and butt seem extra sensitive; whenever you scratch anywhere along her spine, she starts to bite at the air, and anything that’s close to her mouth. She’s not actually biting. Even though it sounds like she’s chewing on something in this video, she’s actually just leaning her face against my knee at biting at nothing. What a weirdo!
But apparently, she’s not alone, I’ve seen videos of other cats doing similar things. Does your cat bite at the air when its butt and/or back gets scratched?
Cat Talk
Favorite Things
I have many favorite cat videos. Maybe too many, but I always come back to this classic. I imagine these two as a couple of old broads, sitting on their Boca Raton patio, gossiping about what the floosies at the country club have gotten themselves into this time.
Alternatives To Medicating Mange
Totally true story: Growing up we had the most amazing Collie named Tootsie. Everyone in the neighborhood called him Lassie and on top of being super popular and super friendly he also had the most gorgeous fur that I loved to crawl up in and snuggle. One summer he began to itch, like hard core. It was painful to watch. We took him to the vet and it was there that it was determined that he had mange.
Well instead of doing any type of treatments, the vet decided to just shave Tootsie. Yep, bald. Like Bruce Willis, Homer Simpson, Britney-Spears-That-Time-She-Went-Real-Crazy, BALD. All that gorgeous fur was gone and you could tell, Tootsie was humiliated. Poor thing. Well, to make matters worse, it turns out after all that, he didn’t even have mange, but an allergy to a cleaning product we had started using on the rugs. Serious Collie bummer.
