Some of my friends who’ve bravely decided to re-enter the wonderful world of academia started school today. Congrats to them! I’m glad for, and proud of, everyone and anyone, at all levels, who are continuing their education. But I can’t say I envy them. I do, however, envy whoever wins this week’s Pawesome Giveaway contest — your choice of any bag or backpack featuring Watson the Cat by Minnesota-based company The Medium Control. The cat on these bags are based on the designers’ very own, real life cat, Watson, a flat-faced wonder who narrates The Medium Control’s design blog The Watsonian.

Aside from the adorable cat face on the front of these bags, I’m a fan of The Medium Control’s bags and backpack because of their great design features: They come in great neutral colors that can fit most everyone’s style. They’re made out of canvas, so they’re lightweight, and therefore, comfortable to wear. And they also have a lot of different compartments for all that junk you probably carry around (I know I do!) . For all you laptop carriers — a “small” backpack is still big enough to fit your 15″-er.
