Hide Your Litter Box Under the Floor

When I was growing up, our cats had their litter box in the basement. When they had to go they would cry at the door to be let downstairs and then cry again when they were ready to come back. During the day they would be outside, doing their business amongst the rose bushes. It made owning cats so much easier on the olfactory senses. Problems only occurred when no one was home to let the cats into the basement when they had to go. Gone too long and someone in our family was sure to find a chocolate or lemonade surprise.

Over at ReadyMade’s Inside & Out I recently posted about Kim Johnson‘s nifty hatch door that leads to her basement. The hatch has a small opening in it so her cats and can get to their own hidden litter box whenever they please. Good thing, since Kim’s 9 cats would surely drive her nuts asking to be either let in or out of the basement. Yet another amazing project from Miss Johnson!
