Starting on April 30, you can affix one of these awesome stamps to your letters. The Animal Rescue stamp series, which advocates adopting shelter animals, features 10 adorable friends who were once homeless (All but one of the animals had been adopted at the time they were
photographed). The photographs for this series were taken by Sally Andersen-Bruce, who also photographed the pets for the Neuter-Spay stamp series.
Maria Goodavage at Dogster did a little super sleuthing and found out more information from Sally Andersen-Bruce about the pet that was not adopted at the time the animals were photographed. Sally said that the calico cat named Bianca was the last time find a home. She was adopted by a senior citizen, but had passed away. Sad. :(
Fortunately, Sally had good news to pass on about the other animals in the series as well: The Australian Shepherd is now a therapy dog that works at a nursing home, and is also an agility and dock diving competitor and the Boston terrier visits schools to raise awareness about shelter pets.
Thanks for sleuthing Maria, thanks for sharing Sally, and make sure to stock up on these stamps in April, everyone else!
