Abandoned Greyhound Cares for a Sanctuary of Animals

Proof # 1,345,762 that dogs rule: When Jasmine was found in a garden shed seven years ago, she was an abandoned greyhound starved for food and affection. Local police took the shivering pup to the Nuneaten Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary to rehabilitate, but when it was time for her to find a forever home Jasmine figured out a way to finagle a permanent spot at the sanctuary.
You see, who’s going to kick out a dog that takes every and any rescued animal under its wing? For years now, Jasmine has taken to being surrogate mother to the dozens of animals that come through the sanctuary doors. She’s babied an 11-week-old roe deer fawn found semi-conscious in a nearby field, five fox cubs, four badger cubs, 15 chicks, eight guinea pigs, two stray puppies and 15 rabbits, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Geoff Grewcock, who runs the sanctuary, told the Daily Mail, “She simply dotes on the animals as if they were her own, it’s incredible to see. As soon as an animal is brought in, she walks over takes a sniff or two and then licks and cuddles them. It is quite amazing, particularly as she is a greyhound breed and they are usually quite aggressive.”
The sanctuary, unfortunately, is filling up with needy pets and running out of space. They’re currently holding an online fundraiser in the hopes of raising $300K. That’s a lot of dough, so if you’ve got a few bucks to spare send ‘em on over to Jasmine and all her foster kids.

Thanks Eric!

Great story. I love the crazy look in that fox’s eyes. Crazy like a fox, indeed!
