Rounded-my-name Name, age, sex, breed: Bear, 4-years-old, tabby cat

Owner, city:Catherine B. San Francisco

How I got my name: I got the name Bear because I act like a bear, lumbering around the house, frequent hibernation, forceful head-butting, occasional bullying of house-guests into feeding me and/or scratching my head. Also, I’m nearly as big as a bear.

How we met: I met Bear the day after Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend at the time accompanied me to the San Francisco SPCA to ‘browse’ for cats. Bear was curled up in a box, hardly visible except for his tail hanging out. I thought that he had an especially fetching paint job and so I walked in to his little cat room. He slowly crept out of his box, curled up in my lap and started drooling on me. It was immediate love! I couldn’t look at another cat after meeting Bear.

Siblings: None known.

Personality type: A ladies man, very affectionate, as witty as an English aristocrat after three martinis.

Pet peeves: When people walk by quickly without acknowledging my presence, letting the food bowl go empty, standing up when I’m using your lap.

Favorite place to lounge: On Catherine.

Favorite foods: “Premium Edge Regularâ€? (but my owner has me on ‘Weight Management Blend’)

Forbidden indulgences: Standing on the kitchen table, chewing the ends of Catherine’s nicest scarves.

Strangest habits:Fear of the bathroom.

Stand-out physical feature: Adorable wide nose, big beautiful green eyes, junk in the trunk.

Things you might not know if I didn’t tell or show you:I grew up in the backwoods of Yolo county and was abandoned by my family, not once but twice! My family fled Yolo county under the cover of night due to being wanted for larceny. I was left on the porch to fend for myself until a neighbor turned me in to the SPCA.
