Tattooed Animals. Oh So Wrong.

Have you heard of the Russian woman who got her Canadian Hairless cat tattooed? No, not with an identification number, but rather with a King Tut illustration. The cat was anaesthetised for three hours to get the ink. Horrified? Well this poor feline isn't the only pet to be inked, as you can see from her canine friend above. More animals with tats after the jump.

The pup with the tattoo belongs to tattoo artist DG Wilson, who inked his dog T-Rex as a thank you to his dog. Um, ok. "In Spring 2004 I tattooed my dog's ear. T-Rex is very special to me. He taught me how to love and care for something…even myself. I believe he [helped] me make a transition so I was able to find my wife and love her and her daugther."
T-Rex was tattooed while having surgery on a bum toe, so he didn't feel a thing, but still, did DG give the tattoo for his dog or for himself. You think T-Rex is walking around saying, "Yah, I'm tough. I've got tats!" Don't think so.

There was of course the artist who thought it would be innovative to tattoo pigs

Then there was the dog owner who tattooed his dog for identification purposes with a Hello Kitty logo, it proved useful when his Jack Russell actually did go missing. I wonder if he ever found his dog and if the Hello Kitty logo was to thank?

In 2007, Steve's Wonderful World of Pets in Williamsville, N.Y., was offering fish tattooed with polka dots, stripes, and pink hearts. The fish were imported from Singapore, though it's unclear how the tattoos were performed on the aquatic creatures.
