Subaru's Partnership with ASPCA
Last night while watching the boob tube, I saw a commercial that caught the attention of the animal-lover in me: the ad for Subaru explained that the car company has a partnership with the ASPCA under its Share the Love campaign. I don't drive (or have a driver's license, even!), but it struck me as a cool promotion: For every vehicle purchased or leased between November 21, 2009 and
January 4, 2010, Subaru will donate $250 to the ASPCA or four other participating charity beneficiaries (the car buyer's choice). I decided to take a further look into it …
Apparently this isn't the first time that Subaru has included the ASPCA in its charitable event. Last year,
the ASPCA received about $1.2 million from the same program.
Subaru dealerships across the U.S. will also be
participating in the program by hosting pet adoptions, pet pictures with Santa, and food and blanket
drives. Shelter professionals, rescuers, and volunteers are welcomed to help participate in upcoming events and details. Contact
Allison Allen in the ASPCA’s Corporate Partnerships department at
646-706-4689 or sharethelove@aspca.org for details. For information on scheduled events, check Subaru.com.
And lastly, Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) has a deal with Guardian Members of
the ASPCA (that is, you nice people who donate on a monthly basis) to participate in the Subaru VIP Partners Program. Those eligible can save between $1,300 – $3,300 off the
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price on the purchase or lease of any new Subaru from
participating dealers. You must have already been enrolled as a Guardian Member since April 2, 2009, or if you joined after, must be an active member for a minimum of six months, to participate. You also have to obtain an official form that you can get by contacting the ASPCA at (646) 706-4690 or email subaru@aspca.org. Find out more details on this program here.
I'm not the biggest promoter of bringing more cars into this world, but if you have to buy one, it's great to help a worthy cause while doing it.
