The San Francisco Animal Care & Control held a press conference and photo opp to notify the public about California’s chihuahua “problem.” That is, there are just too many of the little dudes in the state’s shelters these days; they need homes! As a volunteer who walks the adoptable dogs at the ACC, I can attest to the fact that about 1/3 of the dogs are chihuahua or chihuahua mixes — really cute ones, at that! Since I’ve been under the weather, I wasn’t able to attend the meeting, but our friends at the SF Appeal were there to cover the event. Check out their story and slideshow from the event here.
